Meet The Andersons

My husband, Heath (though you'll hear me call him by his middle name - Rob), and I moved to Marina for simple reasons - we found a home we could afford that would rent to us and our (large) dog, Buddy.  Nearly nine years and two kids later, we could not think of calling anywhere else home. At the intersection of all that is happening in Monterey County, we appreciate the diverse and innovative spirit of the Monterey Peninsula's gateway city.

Rob is a graduate of Evergreen Community College. He also attended San Jose State University before beginning a career as a security professional. He currently works for Tiffany & Co. in Carmel.  I could not ask for a better partner in life.

Our children, Everett (5) and Lillian (3), keep us busy exploring the wonder of our community. On our days off, we tend to keep it local. You are likely to find us playing in one of their two favorite parks - Gloria Jean Tate (aka "The Park with the Big Field") or Laguna Grande (aka "The Park with the Big Slide"), taking advantage of the various community events that draw visitors to our area, or simply running errands to get ready for the coming week.

Rob and I hope our children will choose to make Monterey County their forever home. My time at United Way taught me that this multi-generational community is a dream shared by our neighbors.  I believe that ensuring we have a pool of well-prepared local talent is the key to making this a reality. Education is a critical driver for retaining and attracting jobs that offer self-sustaining wages. Working as a Trustee to improve and grow MPC is one way I can help make this community aspiration a reality.
